Balance is not enough, Coupling attenuation is Key
Coupling attenuation improves both ANEXT performance and immunity to the electromagnetic environment. The coupling attenuation in unscreened (UTP) cabling is determined only by balance. In screened cabling the coupling attenuation is determined by balance plus the screening effectiveness of the screen(s). This means that the coupling attenuation of screened cabling is much greater than that of UTP cabling.
